Greetings Concord, September is a wonderful month where winter is rushing to come and also midterms are close. I have three classes that are cohort classes which are philosophy, academic journey and writing intensive. Being a full time student is very fun because it keeps me and my mind busy. The one challenging thing I am realizing with my classes is the fact that they are about writing and reading a lot; which requires a lot of concentration and it is time consuming. But I do love my philosophy class because I am discovering more about the world and different perspectives. It is nice to be able to discuss with people with opposing opinions and also realizing that a 6 can look like a 9 to another person due to different experiences. I am still on the path for biochemistry and so far I am enjoying the whole journey. Yes I say enjoying, but that doesn’t mean I don’t encounter down period but I still set my mind on the positive. Something new that happened is the fact that I joined the Metrostate soccer league this month as a goalkeeper. I decided to join because I love sports and I love being active, so in one way, it’s a path for me to keep healthy. Hopefully, it will be a decision that will teach me how to be able to manage activity, school, my health and my personal life. Last but not least, my adviser had suggested me that joining the STEM club could help me in many ways since I want to go to medical school, (stem=> science, technology, engineering, math); but I am taking her advice into consideration for when I become a sophomore. Right now, one of my goal as a future officer with the future president of the adventure club is to restart the organization’s activities because all the members of this club graduated last year. So I had volunteered to become an officer, and hopefully everything goes well. Also the adventure club is a social entity where one can develop organizational skills and still have fun. I chose to put my effort into this club because no matter how much discipline and responsibility ethics anyone has, we all need recreational time. In overall, I am keeping my discipline and hard work habits to help me go through those experiences that come sometimes with negative factors; but I am here to learn and I love the transition to adulthood. Have a wonderful month.
