My first semester in college was like a roller-coaster; it was a great experience with scary moments, but overall I enjoyed every part of it.
The good news is the fact that I am already in vacation and finals went great. I also loved my classes specifically the class titled ”multicultural philosophy”; and I loved it so much that I am planning to take another philosophy class entitled ”race and racism: Philosophical Problems”, (but it also covers 3 goals in my GELS requirements).
To be honest, I’ve never been so excited to start a new semester, but I am way more thrilled for Christmas, and also to be able to send the year 2017 away feeling accomplished.
As I said earlier in one of my blog, I was running for the student senate to become a senator, but when I went for the position, the vice-president chair was open and they nominated me as vice-president, and they asked me if I was willing to take the challenge; so I accepted the nomination, but I was scared because the person I was running against was very qualified, and me I was just a freshman. But all this is to say that I became vice-president of the student senate for my school.
I am very grateful that I was able to find the support and people who believed in my capabilities to do the job. And I am also thankful that I accepted the challenge even when I knew it was a competitive position with a lot of responsibilities. I am willing to put the work in and my time management skills to balance school and my new role.
On the second hand, I wanted to say one my favorite quote that kept me moving even in the scary moments is by Les Brown, and it said: ” Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss it you will land among the stars”.
In short, Fall 2017 has been a wonderful learning experience. I wish everyone a wonderful holiday and thank you for all your supports.
